We were called to a 1960’s building in Manly which had a bad smell coming from under the floor of the ground floor unit. With further investigation, it was found that a clay pipe at the bottom of the stack was cracked and needed pipe relining.
It was located underground at the base of the footing. The stack picked up 2 kitchens and 2 laundries on the first and second floors above. Water was leaking out of the clay pipe and running under the floor and laying there. Curl Curl Plumbing relined over the crack pipe and up out of the ground into a PVC pipe. This gave a seamless pipe within the old pipe to prevent any leaking. Curl Curl Plumbing gave a 12-year guarantee on the relined section of the pipe.
This gives the strata and all the residents the confidence that this won’t happen again. With ageing buildings in Manly, Pipe Relining is a great way to repair leaking pipes without digging.
